MSQE Career Paths
The MSQE program at Cal Poly integrates econometrics, machine learning and AI, causal inference, decision analysis, and hands-on analysis of real-world data—all guided by economic theory. Our graduates pursue successful careers in economics, data science, finance, and a wide array of analyst positions (such as business analyst, research analyst, energy analyst, financial analyst, among many others) in both the private and public sector. Many advance into leadership positions within top organizations or continue their academic journey by earning doctoral degrees in economics or related fields, reflecting the program’s strong preparation for both industry and research pathways.
