MBP First-year Cohort
The MBP First-Year Cohort is designed to support first-time freshmen by providing additional resources, services and opportunities as they begin their journey at Cal Poly. Students are selected from an applicant pool during the summer after officially accepting their offer to Cal Poly. Selected participants join a cohort-based learning experience, starting with a specialized section of BUS 100 during their first fall quarter. They continue together for the following quarter through BUS 206, forming a community of like-minded peers who grow and learn together. The program’s goal is to support students from day one through graduation by offering mentorship, academic and personal guidance and access to unique opportunities such as guest speakers, corporate tours, and professional development conferences. This cohort model reflects MBP’s mission to foster a strong sense of belonging and help students persist not just at Cal Poly, but far beyond.
