The vision for the Orfalea College of Business (Orfalea) is to be a transformational leader in experiential business education. We deliver on this vision through an unwavering commitment to our mission: to educate career-ready future business leaders in a polytechnic learn-by-doing environment and produce research that positively influences business and society.

DEI OBJECTIVES & KEY RESULTS
The DEI Action Plan is comprised of aspirational objectives to guide our actions and key results to assess impact. Progress on our objectives and key results will be assessed and updated annually, continually evolving to meet our goals of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
Objective 1
Build sustainable infrastructure for DEI
- Increase financial support for the Multicultural Business Program by 50% over 23-24 fiscal year
- Expand and renovate Multicultural Business Program space to a new centralized location
- Increase the Orfalea Study Abroad Grant fund by 20% for students with high financial need
- Increase participation in Orfalea DEI Awards around innovation, allyship, and instruction
- Provide new professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and student leaders
Objective 2
Recruit, retain, and develop an inclusive and diverse community
- Put into action the Orfalea Community Values project to cultivate an inclusive community
- Launch and assess onboarding process for new faculty this Fall
- Launch new Cal Poly GO First Year Abroad pilot program to Seville, Spain
- Increase our presence in Latinx K-12 schools across the state in alignment with Cal Poly’s Hispanic Serving Institution goals
Objective 3
Eliminate gaps in graduation rates and career outcomes for students
- Enhance proactive advising to underrepresented students to increase graduation rates
- Identify and evaluate gaps for internship and post-graduation employment

Launch and refine student Career Pathways resource to level the understanding and support for career opportunities
- Expand career support for graduate students
- Create fund to support low-income and undocumented students to participate in professional development opportunities
