Paola Ramirez, Career Peer Advisor

3rd Year Business Major, Finance Concentration

Paola enjoys guiding students through the intricate process of securing internships and jobs. Drawing from her background in Career Services, she adeptly crafts resumes and cover letters into compelling narratives. Paola is dedicated to exploring the intersection of AI and career development to advance career opportunities and understand its impact in the workforce. As she embarks on her professional journey with Apple’s finance team, Paola looks forward to leveraging her global experiences and passion for finance to contribute in her new role. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures and cooking!

Vicky Diaz, Career Peer Advisor

3rd Year Business Major, Accounting Concentration

Victoria enjoys taking resume appointments and advising for internship search through local means. As a part of the recruitment committee, she has gathered lots of great interviewing tips where she strongly advocates giving a great handshake. As a part of the DEI committee, she is committed to making people feel welcome,  and more confident in their own abilities. Aside from the Career Readiness Center, she is preparing to endure the world of accounting as an Audit intern at RSM US this summer in San Jose. She loves answering questions and mentoring underclassmen to make the most of their experience in OCOB. In her free time she enjoys golfing, journaling, cooking and making time for friends.

Alex Poroy, Career Peer Advisor

3rd Year Business Major, Information Systems Concentration

Alex’s future career interests center predominantly around strategy consulting. Leveraging DEI pathways last summer, he interned in consulting at a Big 4 professional services firm, further confirming his interest. On campus, Alex holds a role on the board of Mustang Consulting, Cal Poly’s student-led pro bono consulting firm, helping businesses ranging from local SLO firms to large professional service firms overcome strategic problems. This involvement has paved the way to securing his upcoming summer internship at Bain and Company. Alex enjoys assisting OCOB students interested in consulting prepare for success through case mock interviews. He is also passionate about helping students leverage the DEI Opportunities List as a lower resistance pathway to firms who traditionally don’t recruit from Cal Poly.

James Tran, Career Peer Advisor

2nd Year Business Major, Information Systems Concentration | Computer Science Minor  

James enjoys guiding students through various career paths and defining the steps to get there! As a part of his legacy project, he conducted career research in the fields of technology, analysis, and consulting to discover the best recruiting resources, key skills, and notable classes to take. Feel free to ask about specific career paths within technology as he has experience interning as a product engineer and will soon intern as an Information Systems Consultant @ CBIZ ARC this summer. His biggest career tip is that career development is a personalized, lifelong process, so be patient and avoid comparing with others! Outside of office he enjoys running and finding new scenic places in SLO.

Aidan Janetos, Career Peer Advisor

3rd Year Business Major, Finance Concentration

Aidan enjoys connecting with students on job/internship exploration. He is knowledgeable especially in the realm of finance/banking, and enjoys guiding students through the nuances of those paths including technical interviewing skills, and finance specific career insight. Aidan currently spearheads the Professional Development bootcamp which is a six week, one on one mentoring program with each individual career peer! Outside of the Career Readiness Center and Cal Poly, Aidan can most likely be found in the outdoors, surfing, skiing, running or climbing. Aidan will also be rejoining JP Morgan Chase as a Financial Sponsors Group summer analyst and is always happy to connect with students to answer any questions they may have.
