Stern Neill, Ph.D. is a Professor of Marketing at Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business where he works to advance marketing theory and practice, blending pedagogical insights with practical applications. His approach focuses on three goals: i) bridging marketing, strategy, and entrepreneurship, ii) connecting classroom learning with real-world challenges, and iii) shaping a new generation of analytical, innovative professionals.

Dr. Neill’s academic journey is marked by several appointments, including Associate Dean, Marketing Chair, and Visiting Scholar, which have all contributed to broadening his perspective and deepening his understanding of effective leadership and global business education.

At the core of Dr. Neill’s research is a curiosity that explores how individuals and organizations navigate uncertainty and realize growth. This pursuit is pivotal in unraveling the dynamics of innovation in behavior and outcomes, traversing strategic, global, and entrepreneurial marketing. His commitment to teaching and learning is reflected in publications in Journal of Marketing Education and Marketing Education Review. His scholarly works also appear in journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, Entrepreneurship Research Journal, and Industrial Marketing Management.
