Objective 1

Building Sustainable Infrastructure

  • Remodeled and relocated the Multicultural Business Program space to a more central hub with updated furniture and improved program flow.
  • Awarded $15,000 in grants for First Year Go abroad students with high financial need; fundraising to expand this support is ongoing.
  • Launched new faculty onboarding programs and a Together in Teaching workshop series to strengthen inclusive teaching practices.
  • Supported professional development events for faculty and staff, including conferences and retreats.
  • Introduced a Spring Check-In with the dean to support junior tenure-track faculty.
  • Completed the third consecutive year of the Culture & Inclusion Survey for Faculty & Staff, showing continued improvement and positive trends across key metrics.

Objective 2

Fostering an Inclusive and Diverse Community

  • Embedded Orfalea Community Values across campus life: featured in fall conferences, student leader notebooks, digital signage and campus tours.
  • Launched monthly Coffee & Conversations gatherings to foster belonging among faculty and staff.
  • Rolled out a new onboarding process for faculty, with orientation sessions and a faculty research showcase series.
  • Piloted the First Year Go abroad program in Seville, Spain, with plans to expand to new sites during semester conversion.
  • Increased outreach to Latinx-serving K-12 schools statewide, including bilingual tours and local outreach through student organizations.
  • Achieved record numbers and percentages of Latinx applicants and confirmed admits.

Objective 3

Advancing Student Success and Career Outcomes

  • Proactively supported underrepresented students with new academic advising roles and data-informed outreach, contributing to an 11.7-percent rise in transfer graduation rates and narrowing the URM graduation gap.
  • Identified key equity gaps in compensation and internship access for students, guiding targeted career readiness efforts.
  • Expanded use of the Career Pathways resource to help students better understand career opportunities.
  • Enhanced graduate student support with dedicated advising, alumni connections and the launch of a student advisory board.
