Allison Ellis is a professor of management and human resources in the Orfalea College of Business. Her research explores how organizations create conditions that help employees thrive while achieving sustainable success. Her work focuses on onboarding, employee well-being, work-life balance, social support, and the ways managers can foster positive workplace relationships while maintaining organizational effectiveness.
Her research has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Management, Human Resource Management, and Journal of Applied Psychology. Her research has also been featured in Harvard Business Review and The Wall Street Journal.
An award-winning educator, Dr. Ellis has twice received Cal Poly’s David Peach Excellence in Teaching Award. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in human resource management and leadership, preparing students to build workplaces that support both people and organizational success.
