Blair Middlebrook

Blair Middlebrook is an assistant professor of management at the Orfalea College of Business. She earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Washington and BBA in Management from Texas Christian University. Prior to beginning her Ph.D., she worked in the healthcare industry as a senior analyst of operations innovation at DaVita Inc. in Denver, Colorado.

Her research explores how organizations can foster environments where the unique individuality of each of their members propels organizational and individual flourishing. Some of her current work considers this theme in employee voice behavior and in organizational contexts where the expression of one’s individuality is complicated by outside forces.

Middlebrook grew up in Encinitas, California, and loves getting to work at Cal Poly, where both of her parents and her grandfather all attended. Plus, her great great great and great great grandparents lived in SLO in the early 1900s, which makes it extra special for her to call San Luis Obispo home.
