Chris is a tenured business school professor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and visiting faculty member in the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. He teaches courses in domestic and international business law, regulation, public policy, business communication and ethics, and designed the business school’s MBA and undergraduate courses and field trip to China, with two additional trips to India. Professor Carr has received the student-selected outstanding faculty award on multiple occasions.
Post-tenure, he served as associate dean, helping reaffirm AACSB accreditation and guiding Cal Poly’s first appearance in BusinessWeek’s top 100 undergraduate business programs. His recent USDA funded research focuses on agricultural export supply chains, freight logistics, and port infrastructure issues. A five-time Fulbright recipient, he served as a Specialist in Tunisia, Pakistan (2x), and Mongolia, and held the US-Italy Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Business at the University of Naples (Parthenope). He remains an active member of the California bar.
