Cindy Wang is an associate professor of marketing in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly. She received her Ph.D. in marketing from the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon.
Wang’s research examines consumer behavior, with a focus on how social, psychological, and contextual factors shape consumer judgments and decision making. Her work explores topics such as brand relationships, consumer well-being, environmental conservation behaviors, social impact initiatives, and price perceptions. Her research has been published in leading marketing journals and has received awards and recognition at major marketing and consumer behavior conferences.
In addition to her research, Wang teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing research, global marketing, and related areas. She actively mentors students through research projects, independent studies, and university mentoring programs, providing students with hands-on experiences through Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing approach. She values opportunities to collaborate with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and believes these interactions enrich both teaching and research.
