Craig Law-Smith brings more than 35 years of global business experience to Cal Poly, with leadership roles at Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Nike, and high-growth startups across Asia and the United States. At Google Japan, he led go-to-market strategy for YouTube advertising products, helped scale new offerings globally, and was recognized among Google’s top 1% of people leaders.
Today, Craig teaches marketing and organizational behavior while also leading Wave Coaching, where he advises founders, executives, and leadership teams on go-to-market strategy, leadership alignment, and organizational performance. His teaching connects academic frameworks with the realities of building teams, making decisions under pressure, navigating change, and turning strategy into action.
A former Division I athlete, black belt, ultramarathoner, and longtime contemplative practitioner, Craig is especially interested in how performance psychology, neuroscience, leadership, and contemplative wisdom shape human performance at work and in life. He encourages students to connect business knowledge with curiosity, self-awareness, courage, and practical judgment.
