Daniel Seiver
Daniel Seiver spent 27 years teaching economics at Miami University. He retired as a tenured professor in 2005. At Miami, he taught ten different courses, and authored or coauthored over 20 peer reviewed articles, notes and comments, in journals such as American Economic Review (Papers and Proceedings), International Economic Review, Review of Income and Wealth, and Demography. He also authored or coauthored two books: Regions and Resources: Strategies for Development (MIT Press) and Outsmarting Wall Street (Probus/McGraw-Hill, 3rd ed.).
Seiver presented his work at over 20 national and regional conferences. He appeared regularly on the PBS TV program “Nightly Business Report.” Seiver was also principal or co-principal investigator for NSF and NIH grants totaling over $5 million.
Seiver taught at SDSU from 2005 to 2012. He was named Most Influential Professor in 2007 (Finance) and in 2012 (International Business). He has also won two teaching awards at Cal Poly.
Seiver also competes in the U.S. Senior Olympics, and is nationally ranked for his age group in sprints and long jump. He has a B.A. and Ph.D. from Yale.
