I am an associate professor of marketing in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I earned my Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Kansas.

My research examines the psychological factors that shape charitable giving, prosocial behavior, gift-giving, and consumer decision-making in the context of artificial intelligence, including topics such as AI empathy and human-AI interactions. My work has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, International Journal of Research in Marketing, and European Journal of Marketing.

My research has received broad media attention, with features across radio, television, podcasts, blogs, and press releases, including coverage by The Tribune, Washington Post, Yahoo Lifestyle, KCLU, KSBY, and the American Marketing Association, among others.

I also collaborate with community organizations such as the The Salvation Army, Headquarters Counseling Center, The Learning Center, and SLO Food Bank to design and implement field experiments that generate both scholarly insights and meaningful real-world impact.
