Pat Pemberton

Pat Pemberton promotes the Orfalea College of Business with print stories, the online Orfalea Magazine, photos, social media, press releases, collaterals and more.

He is a former award-winning newspaper journalist with the San Luis Obispo Tribune, whose features and news stories appeared in major newspapers nationwide, including the Seattle Times, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, Detroit Free-Press and others. As a freelance writer, his work appeared in Rolling Stone; AOL Music; Indianapolis Monthly; Real People: The Magazine of Celebrities and Interesting People; California Lawyer and Surfer’s Journal.

After his journalism career, he transitioned to marketing and public relations, working for Barnett Cox & Associates in San Luis Obispo and then Cal Poly, beginning with the College of Engineering in 2018 and Orfalea College of Business in 2022.

He has appeared on several national TV shows on Oxygen, Investigation Discovery, Netflix and E!, and he has taught in the Cal Poly Journalism Department.
