Stephen F. Hamilton

Dr. Hamilton is recognized internationally for his research and consulting related to agricultural markets, wholesale pricing of food products, supermarket pricing of fresh products and consumer packaged goods, environmental and land use regulation, energy and water markets, and antitrust. His academic and professional honors include receiving the Early Career Award for Outstanding Faculty Research, the Atlas Award from Elsevier Science for Research with Social Impact, the Quality of Research Discovery Award from the European Association of Agricultural Economics, and the Distinguished Scholarship Award at Cal Poly.

He has consulted with numerous companies on land and water use issues over the past 30 years and has published over 70 peer reviewed articles in leading academic journals as American Economic Review, RAND Journal of Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of International Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Environmental Economic and Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and the Journal of Law and Economics. He has secured over $5 million in federal research grants to support his research at Cal Poly.
