Yesenia Marquez-Beas

Yesenia Marquez-Beas is a two-time alumna of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at San José State University. In the Orfalea College of Business, Yesenia is passionate about helping students overcome challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve their educational goals through her work in academic advising and as the coordinator of the Multicultural Business Program. She is especially passionate about supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds, including those who identify as first-generation, low-income, Latinx/e, undocumented, English language learners, students with dependents, and returning students, as these are identities she relates to through her own lived experiences. Yesenia welcomes all students to schedule an appointment and looks forward to supporting them throughout their journey at Cal Poly.
