Bing Anderson joined the Orfalea College of Business as an Associate Professor of Finance in September of 2004. He holds a B.Eng. in Computer Science, an M.A. in Statistics from the University of Chicago, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University.
He is a member of the American Finance Association and the Financial Management Association International, and has published papers in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Finance Letters, Applied Economics Letters, the International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. He taught MBA and undergraduate finance classes for two years at the University of Calgary in Canada before coming to San Luis Obispo, and has also worked for a hedge fund in the U.S. and a financial data analytics company in Chicago.
Bing’s current research focus is international finance and fixed income, with particular interest in exchange rate dynamics modeling, currency, interest rate derivatives pricing, and international bond markets. He teaches undergraduate courses in International Finance, Fixed Income, and MBA courses in Managerial Finance.
