The Orfalea College of Business Career Readiness Center aims to provide career-related support through mentorship to Orfalea students who are interested in developing skills to launch career exploration and enhance career-readiness.

Professional Development Bootcamp

The Professional Development Bootcamp pairs students with a Career Peer Advisor for six-weeks to work on career readiness topics, like internship search, interview prep, career exploration, and more.

The Professional Development Bootcamp might be a good fit for you if you identify with any one of these statements:

  • You are a first or second year student wanting to get a personalized head start toward your career goals
  • You are wanting more structure and accountability to make progress toward your career goals
  • You took BUS 206 awhile ago and need a refresher on career topics like internship search, resume and cover letter writing, networking, interviewing, etc.
  • You feel overwhelmed by the process of finding a job or internship and want someone to help you every step of the way
  • You want to learn from a student who has recently been through the internship search
  • You aren’t sure how your interests and strengths align with potential careers

Alumni Mentoring Program

The Alumni Mentoring Program pairs students with an OCOB Alumni to help the student explore career paths, grow their network, and launch their career. Once paired, students and alumni mentors meet once a month for a minimum of three months.

The Alumni Mentoring Program might be a good fit for you if you relate with any one of these statements:

  • You are a third or fourth year wanting to grow your network and prepare for the post-college transition
  • You have an idea of your career path but want to learn more about that specific field
  • You want industry insights on building relevant skills and experiences to be competitive in a certain field
  • You are eager to learn how to build and keep professional relationships
  • You are intimidated to reach out to someone you don’t know and want to have a supportive and available professional to help answer your questions
